Data transfer requirements

Feed requirements vary by country. Therefore, it is important to select the correct country when using this guide. Countries (territories)

Main conditions

The ad feed must be placed as a URL link on the Import page in your Personal Account.

Each ad must be dedicated to a single property.

To add new information to an ad, you must update the existing ad, not delete or duplicate it. The updated ad must have the same external_id.

Ad texts and property descriptions must not contain HTML code.

The feed must contain ads from only one user.

The specified contact information will be relevant for all ads simultaneously. In practice, this means that the contact information from the last ad will always be relevant for all other ads.

The feed must contain ads from one country. If the ads relate to several countries, you should create several feeds and place each feed on the Import page in your Personal Account in the corresponding country domain.

File encoding — UTF-8.

The feed must comply with XML (Extensible Markup Language) standards. The first 32 ASCII characters are not allowed in text fields (exceptions are tab, line feed, carriage return).

XML Feed Requirements

All elements are divided into small logical groups. The required data format, as well as mandatory elements (depending on the deal and property type), are provided in section Element Dictionary. A complete list of possible values is provided for ENUM and SET tags.

Document Header

The file must start with a standard XML header from the first character of the first line.

Root Element

The root element of the <root/> feed must contain the following elements:

  • date-generated — feed creation date and time
  • contacts — contact information
  • ad — information for each listing (repeating element)

  • m — month (with a leading zero)

Determining Values and Listing Identification

The ad element contains all the information about the listing. The deal_type, property_type, and external_id elements are mandatory. The dwelling element is mandatory only for daily rentals (instead of property_type). In addition, each type of operation and property has its own mandatory elements. Information about this is specified in the Element Dictionary section.

  • deal_type (required) — listing type (operation type)
  • property_type (required) — property type
  • dwelling — dwelling type
  • external_id — Listing ID in the user's database (from which it is imported)
  • info_link — link to the listing on the user's website
  • geo — geolocation data
  • date — listing creation and update dates
  • desc — descriptive information about the property

  • media — photos for the listing

Geodata

Specifying the location is mandatory. Errors or missing coordinates can affect search result rankings.

All data should be provided in the English (en) language.

If there are settlements with the same name within the specified area_1 or area_2, then in the locality element, the type (city, town, village, etc.) should be indicated after the name.

In the street element, the name is written first, followed by the type (street, avenue, etc.).

The lat and lng elements are not mandatory but are desirable, as their presence is very important.

Dates

The creation and updated elements are mandatory.

Dates must be real, not automatically generated. If no changes have been made to the listing, you should not change the date for the sake of visibility of the update. If there was no change, but the update date has changed, this will only slow down the processing speed of listings from the feed, and the listing will not have a higher position in the search results.
